The ˇ°Stinger Spike Systemˇ± is a tire deflating device that can be deployed in seconds by a single police officer. This tire deflating device uses a totally new and innovative patented rocking arm action that tits the spikes into the tire at the correct angle, allowing this unit to be effective when run from either direction and at all speeds.
As the tire leaves the Stinger unit, the rocking action allows the spikes to be pulled out of the unit and stay in the tire. The spikes, which are hollow, penetrate the tire and liner, letting the air out in a controlled deflation. The Stinger spike system costs 20 percent to 33 percent less than models currently available and weights less than ten pounds.
